Me & Izzy will be at La Cocina tonight for a fun little fundraiser for the Center for Biological Diversity (where I work). It’s free to get in, and La Cocina is donating a portion of the proceeds from food & drink sales to the Center. One of my co-workers, Mike, plays the accordion in a gypsy band, and his band will be playing, along with a few other acts. It’s from 7pm-10pm and is family-friendly, casual fun in one of Tucson’s most beautiful restaurant courtyards.
It would be great to see you there!

Come Help us Turn on 4 restored Neon Signs!
Friday – April 27 – 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
Pima Community College Downtown Campus
Join the Tucson Historic Preservation Foundation and Pima Community College for a night celebrating Tucson’s Neon past.
The evening will include the lighting of 4 historic neon signs rescued and restored by the Tucson Historic Preservation Foundation; the release of THPF’s Driving Guide: The Neon Pueblo: a guide to Tucson’s mid-century advertising, a mid-century fashion show, classic cars, and a Sock-Hop.
The events start at 6:00 pm on the Pima Community College Downtown Campus
Southwest corner of Drachman and Stone Avenue.
The event is Free and open to the entire community.

6:15 – 6:45 Live Music (Salvador Duran)
6:45 – 7:15 Neon Sign Lighting

Mothers day is right around the corner, and as we three are mamas ourselves we wanted to offer all the other mothers, sisters, husbands, daughters, sons, friends, grandchildren, baby daddies, and supporters of the mamas in their lives the chance to get the perfect gift for that super mom in their world.
