Phew. That is all I can say.
Sure, some of the propositions went in disappointing ways.
But Obama, landslide, hope, all of that.
Phew, phew, phew.
I can now go into labor, knowing our child will be born into a world of hope. (Or I can at least go to sleep more peacefully tonight…)

Yes on Prop 403, No on Prop 102, and Obama/Biden (duh)
October 30th, 2008 · No Comments
I stole the blurbs below from the Tucson Weekly’s endorsements, which on the whole I agree with anyway. If anyone has compelling arguments against one or more of their endorsements, feel free to share here in the comments. So besides voting for Obama/Biden, TucsonMama encourages you to vote YES on Prop 403, to improve our [...]

Flirting toward a disaster?
October 6th, 2008 · 2 Comments
I hope it is toward a disaster. I hope the winkin’ and stuff doesn’t help move them toward victory.
Thanks to our friend Jesse for this piece from The Guardian.
(but the author wrote “preceded” where she should have used “proceeded”, and it’s bugging me–but maybe the spelling/usage is different in the UK? Rachel?)
Okay, and one more [...]

Palin/Biden Bingo!!
October 1st, 2008 · 3 Comments
MomsRising has made a bingo game to go along with the debate tomorrow night. Could be good fun. Me, I’d prefer to make a drinking game out of that, but probably not that appropriate at 33 weeks pregnant…Someone do it for me, will you? I’ll help you with the rules.
And apologies for general lameness in [...]

Gobama!!

This is the best response I can imagine to McCain’s suggestion to delay Friday’s debate:
“This is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess,” the Democratic candidate said. “It is going to be part of the president’s [...]

Tucson Mamas for Obama
September 17th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Well, we don’t have our own coalition, but here’s a great family-friendly event to support the Obama campaign. Next Saturday, 9/27, from 3-7pm–perfect post-nap/pre-bed event for the toddlers (that’s what I’m always looking for, anyway).
If you have any questions about the event or local Obama campaign or want to volunteer this Saturday 9/20, doing a [...]
Two Sarahs
September 5th, 2008 · 1 Comment
One scares me more than I can describe. Jon Stewart, oh how we love him, does a great job here.
The other Sarah turns me into a gushy smitten teenager. I have the hugest crush on her. Excellent editorial in last week’s NY Times…

Way to go mamas

Totally loved Michelle Obama’s and Hillary Clinton’s speeches at the DNC.
I still get all emotional about Clinton’s campaign. I was so conflicted about who to vote for in the primaries. I remember being on the phone with Erika O while I was in line at the polls and we were going back and forth about [...]
