Lots going on downtown!

Tomorrow night is the first Cinema La Placita screening of the season. This beloved outdoor film series, which began in 2000 (has it been that long? amazing!!) runs May through October. Movies roll every Thursday night around 7:30pm in the La Placita plaza which is the brightly-colored group of buildings surrounding a courtyard on the [...]

It’s almost time for Baby Club Congress #5. The long-anticipated event takes place Sunday, May 4th, and will appropriately have a Cinco de Mayo theme. The fun begins at 2pm and will wind down at 5pm (at which time those of us who aren’t easily convinced to leave a good party may well congregate in [...]

Because there is nothing else to discuss besides babies and bars, apparently
February 18th, 2008 · 3 Comments
Yesterday’s Arizona Daily Star had this opinion piece about the subject.

I too find it annoying when there’s a crying baby at a movie or concert. Some places–airplanes–it can’t be helped. But if your baby’s crying and you have the option to leave, I think it’s the right thing to do. And I’m vehemently opposed to [...]
Babies and bars

First things first–we had a great time at BCC yesterday. Watching our toddlers share disco moves is something we won’t soon forget. The sugar cookies were yummy, the tunes were hot, and the crowd was divine. (We still have requests for beer selection in the club bar–Stella Artois? Pilsner Urquell? Please?)
The giant Care Bear was [...]

This Sunday, February 10th, from 2-5pm at Hotel Congress, it’s Baby Club Congress #4.
Don’t know about you, but we totally missed having the BCC last month, and as overscheduled as this month is, we can’t wait for this weekend’s event.
Tickets are still available–you can buy them online here.
Hope to see you there. And hey, Rebecca [...]

No Baby Club Congress this Sunday!
January 9th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Baby Club Congress is no longer a monthly event. The next BCC will be Sunday, February 10th, and subsequent dates haven’t been set yet, but most likely it’ll be every 3 months.
We’re a little mournful here at the TM headquarters, and may just have to hang out in the Congress lobby with our babies and [...]

Baby Club Congress #3
December 12th, 2007 · 1 Comment
It was fantastically fun, as usual. And there were ducks and chickens and pigs and bunnies and snow princesses and lots of french fries. And I totally won one of the raffle prizes which made me happy.
For those of you in attendance, what do you love about BCC? What would you like to see at [...]

Views and brews
December 5th, 2007 · No Comments
We love Barrio Brewing, our kid-friendly neighborhood bar (okay, that makes us sound like unfit parents, but we’re not, we swear). It has a smoke-free outdoor seating area that has the coolest view of downtown–from the southwest, an unusual angle from which to see the buildings. The train tracks run right past the parking lot, and best [...]
