Okay, a little more about me

I work full time, but work from home one day a week. Sometimes I take my favorite little boy out for a lunch break .

He always wants to go to the same place (he likes their fish tacos).

Quiz: Where are we in these photos??

I’m grateful for the opportunity to work at home. Even if it’s sort of crazy and harried most of the time around our house, it’s one more day that I’m near our kids.

Sometimes I indulge myself and think about my ideal life situation–how my time would be divided. Right now I want more time with each of my kids alone, and more time by myself, and more time with my husband, and more family time. So I guess that’s more of just about everything. Except work-outside-the-home. I feel satisfied with that, thank you. Given my utter lack of control over the physical properties of the universe, I cannot create more hours to spread around, so, yeah, I guess I’d want to work less.

So, if money were no object…work half time outside the home at something fulfilling and meaningful and interesting, in an engaging atmosphere (current employment meets these criteria)… have a half a day a week with each kid alone…a half a day by myself to space out/create/play/read…a few hours with a friend or two…loving babysitter or nana/grandma once a week so I get alone time with S….then lots of family family-and-friends time. More time for creating and playing, less time erranding/cleaning. Though we seem to have a pretty good balance between work/play. Overall, I think we have it really good. I feel lucky and grateful and like my cup indeed runneth over.

You? What would your ideal set up be? How would you divide your time?

I would like to spend more time studying for a degree in nutrition, but with a newborn that would be an incredible feat anytime soon.

And speaking of yum, nutrition! How cool. Do you have a dream career associated with that too?
