My daughter Madison was born at UMC and spent 3months in the NICU. She was born at 26wks weighing 1lb 13ozs she truly is a miracle. The volunteers are wonderful especially since the NICU is not set up for parents to stay 24hrs (that is changing :-) ). I was heartbroken I could not be there all the time and trust me if you tried to fall asleep they would not let you. I was there from morning till night but then I had to go home. (I did pull some 24hr shifts, but your body only allows so much of that) There was usually someone there to cuddle my little one when I was not. It is also great cause believe it or not some of these tiny babies dont get the cuddles they need. It takes a very special person to work or volunteer at the NICU, its very hard to watch these tiny little babies suffer. Thank you Edna for your dedication to our babies. Mindy
