Janet said that this is a “cunning frock”, and ooh, I love that phrase. I have a baby-care book from the 1940s and it refers to “cunning sunsuits” for infants. I suppose it’s similar to referring to a “smart” pantsuit. It makes me giggle though.
This photo was taken on the 4th of July, on our way to a bbq/party. I got the frock in question at the very awesome clothing swap at Dinnerware earlier that day. Good lord that was fun. Music (really good music–that woman in the spangled coat and her guitar!), mimosas, idly sifting through piles of trash-or-treasure, trading apparel with strangers, trying to convince Erika that the cute little navy top looked better on me than her, but it really didn’t, I just wanted it and she found it first.
Thank you, David Aguirre! That was fun! Let’s do it again.

Ah, I wish I would have known about that event! I have been trying to convince friends to have a “Naked Mama Party” but they don’t get it despite me telling them how fun they are….

Naked Mama Party? Qu’est-ce que c’est?
Dinnerware events are usually promoted on Facebook, it seems.
It was great. Hopefully there’ll be another one.
I also talked to David about doing a baby/kid clothing one. Will post here if that’s gonna happen.

A bunch of mama friends and I used to do a Naked Mama Party on a (about) quarterly basis…we’d just pack up all the clothes we were sick of and head to a mama’s house for an evening of wine and “shopping”. Leftovers got donated. Great way to clean out your closets, pick up a few new duds, and donate to a good cause! And the favorite local baby store held several Naked Baby Parties too–same idea.
