Damn. Our neighborhood pool isn’t going to open this summer. It’s literally a block from our house, and is a totally dreamy place to go on hot, overcast afternoons.
Crap.
They took my swimming pool!

I’m sorry. Budget cuts again? We went to a very fun splash park-Fenton Memorial Park. Tommy loved it and it’s free (my favorite part). Not around the block from you though…

I am kind of upset with the city over our local pool situation. We are doing swim lessons at the Purple Heart Park pool every afternoon and the first day we went last week, the water temp was 65 degrees. It has gotten slightly warmer, maybe 70 since then, but our son is shaking and blue within 10 minutes and we have to get out and miss the rest of our lesson. The lifeguard told me they are only heating 4 pools this year and the rest are just going to be cold. It’s kind of a bummer because it’s right down the street from our house, and now we have to look for a warmer pool for the next session. I assume it’s a budget thing as well.

I love Lil Traders too, Melissa…I’m sure one day we’ll run into each other there and will duke it out over that really cute pair of sneakers..

Well, I’ll let you have the sneakers without putting up a fight, as Little Man has wide feet that result in him wearing shoes that cost more than mine. Have you seen the price of Stride Rites lately?! It’s obscene. They have pretty good sales on occasion though, otherwise my kid would be running around barefoot.
As for duking it out over the clothes, I’d better start working out so I’m in better shape!
