Wild things

May 31st, 2008 · No Comments

TucsonBaby Carmen digs the roller derby. She is one kickass toddler, with impeccable taste, so we’ll take her recommendation and check out one of the bouts as soon as we can. The 2008 schedule is here. We missed our chance to go tonight, and it looks like the girls won’t be playing in town for another few weeks. But well worth planning ahead for.

And here’s something at the Zoo that looks fun:

Tucson Zoological Society brings you Hot Times in the Cool ZOO! Once a week, from May to July, the Reid Park Zoo will be home to our first ever MonZOOn Magic summer series. Come enjoy live musical acts or private viewings of your favorite movies in our lush surroundings. Enjoy the cool sounds of jazz or get the bounce in your step with a little country music all while strolling through the zoo for our concert evenings. Or bring your blanket and lawn chair to sit under the stars and spend the evening enjoying family favorite movies after having enjoyed pre-movie activities. There will be animal encounters, photos with Leo and MORE! Call 881-4753 x1 for more information.

(I know that $10/person is a little steep for many of us…they don’t mention it here, but kids under 2 are free, so it may be worth doing now and then. Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies, but we’d only be able to catch the first half hour or so before the little person’s bedtime. Still, worth considering.)
