Weekend

Holiday weekend coming up…it’s supposed to cool down by about 20 degrees tmrw, and should be in the 70s on Friday, maybe even with t’storms. Pretty nice. So it could be the opportunity for one last weekend outside, perhaps. Botanical Gardens? Park? What do you all have going on this weekend? Any good events I should post here?

Tomorrow night (around 7:30) The Odd Couple is screening at La Placita. I can’t wait until our kid is old enough to stay up late for those movies. For now, someone else enjoy it for me, will you?

And  another thing that has been weighing on me lately–what the HELL do you do with your kid(s) in summer, when school’s out? We have the day care thing figured out for now, and then I was thinking there’d be this little decrease in financial stress once the kid is in school…but then summer. What happens? A string of day camps with family vacation scattered here and there? Yikes.

There is an event called “Rita Ranch Family Fun Day” at the Purple Heart Park on Rita Road this Saturday from 9-1. It is only about a 15 minute drive from mid-town and they have lots of jumping castles, face painting, food, games, etc. And the best part is, the pool there is open from 9-1 as well. The whole thing is free which is also a plus. Last year, it was about 95 degrees outside, and it was still fun so some cooler weather will be a nice treat!

Hey Tucson Pops is back. Tomorrow, May 25th, at Reid Park. You can find out more information at tucsonpops dot org. We’ve never been as a family, but our friends Greg and Kathryn have being taking their gaggle and love it. They say while it starts at 7, it gets packed and so they go an hour or so early stake their spot and then the kids and a parent go off to the playground while the other guards their site.
