This weekend is the marvelous Janet K. Miller’s biannual Garden Party. She makes fabulous gingersnaps and lemonade, and has the most amazing heirloom flowers we’ve ever seen. What a mess

Depressing and troubling. More talk about closing local school (because bigger classrooms in faraway schools are just what our kids need). It’s horrifying and a bit embarrassing to read about the flawed audit and the estimates of savings from the closures–the mistakes and confusion about these matters is upsetting.
