		<description>Yeah, thin on details, you&#039;re right! The parade lasts maybe 90 minutes? Anyone? 
They&#039;re still accepting submissions for parade floats, so can&#039;t say for sure what it will be like this year.
But going by the previous years&#039; offerings, it&#039;s an eclectic mix, which is what makes it so much fun. 
There are usually junior high/high school marching bands--good ones, doing funky dances. There are civic organizations--a councilperson in a fancy car, for example. And there is the random Lord-y float, with a baby Jesus and some religious hymns. There are kids singing carols and throwing candies and, yes, from what I recall, there were Shriners in their tiny cars, at least they were there one year, I think.
That&#039;s the fun of it--you don&#039;t know what the parade will consist of--but it&#039;s cold, you&#039;re bundled up (and perhaps a little buzzed on red wine), and it&#039;s all good, as the hippies say.</description>
