Review, BCC #2

Loved it. The french fries were hot and plentiful, and the beer was good. Watching our babies play well with others was priceless.
img_2011.jpg Truly, a delightful event. We missed our opportunity to pet the tiny ponies and goats, so much fun were we having inside the club, where we fed our kids the free cheese sticks and goldfish and juice boxes. By “feeding our kids” we mean eating the string cheese ourselves, mostly, and sharing the salty snacks with the wee ones on occasion. Goldfish + beer = yum!

By the end of the event a group of us sat on the floor of the club drinking beer while our kids ate goldfish and swatted each other with plastic balls. We wondered how the Congress folks were going to deal with the mess our families made, and admitted to each other that we had our dogs clean up our kitchens each time we attempted to feed the baby. We offered to bring a pack of hounds to the next event, if the gesture would be welcomed.

Our friend E remarked that she was totally proud to be closing down the BCC (at 5pm, mind you, but that’s as wild as things get for us these days). There were quite a few of us who spilled out of the hotel lobby at sunset and enjoyed the shifting autumnal light, marvelling at the rosy clouds bouncing off the Catalinas.

Our babes held their own afterparty in the plastic playhouse that was set up in the HoCo parking lot.

No doubt many of us took pleasure in seeing our kids frolic in the very spot where we experienced our most immature, radiant, questionable, or perhaps inspired moments in years past.

At any rate, we are so glad to have Baby Club Congress to look forward to each month. When the end of the party looks like this, you know that a good time was had by all:

Loved the BCC! I was there for a bit working with Scott at the Trader Joe’s table and could not get over how great the dance floor was…chalk drawings on the floor, disco lights above. :)
