Count us among the many shoppers obsessed with Etsy, especially for kids’ clothes. Depending on the paycheck situation, we might mainly do the online version of window-shopping (which, hmm, could still be called Window shopping, but some of us use Macs, so…nevermind). But the amount of talent out there is kind of ridiculous.
We are currently preoccupied with a store called Ettu–clothes made of soft old t-shirts! Liberal use of bright, unusual color combinations! I mean $20 for this tangerine-and-lime jacket and hat set…so damn cute. (Okay, they’re one of a kind, so this particular item may not be there if you check, but we’ll do our best to keep an eye on it and delete the link when it’s gone.)
We love that Etsy lets us own one-of-a-kind items at reasonable prices, and that our money is going directly to people who make their own clothes, jewelry, etc. Unless there’s something fishy going on in a seller’s home, you can be pretty sure whatever you buy is sweatshop-free. We also like having an easy source for perfect birthday present for our friends. Most of us know our pals well enough to type in a few keywords that will lead us to a knockout gift.
Go forth and support a creative, talented person today. Or at least window shop!

Browse Etsy with fair warning that you can lose a whole afternoon doing so! Excellent story…I second the Etsy love:)

Oooooo! Love the Ettu clothes. What a great way to recycle and buy sweatshop free. If only my little one was big enough for this: http://images.etsy.com/all_images/b/b75/339/il_430xN.12442590.jpg
